It took a long time before I was able to look at myself in the mirror and truly accept myself for who I am. I discovered that over the years, my lack of self-acceptance had been to unresolved feelings from traumatic experiences in my childhood, which had impacted negatively throughout my life, creating more trauma along the way. My counselling for trauma service aims to help others recover, as I have.
Many of us suffer from unprocessed trauma, which often manifests as anxiety, depression and chronic low self esteem. Over time, if untreated, this will impact on every area of our lives – the relationships we choose, our work lives, and the way in which we feel about ourselves. We may turn to medicine, or try to numb our feelings with alcohol, food, shopping or over-working. Over time these strategies become less effective for managing unresolved feelings. Counselling for trauma, anxiety and depression enables my clients to process their feelings and move forward with their lives in a more positive way.
Counselling for trauma sessions take place either face-to-face or online via Zoom or VideoCall etc. I truly believe that everyone has the deep wisdom to heal from their trauma and make the best decisions for themselves. Therefore I help clients to help themselves. My work is to help clients connect with their own wisdom and to find the inner strength to face their feelings. I help find clarity. I help face the truth. I help find love and connection for themselves and others. As a result clients grow and develop, tapping into their own resources, so that they can move forward in a more positive way.
