Ruth Phypers

“I help to transform the challenge of living with trauma and addiction into confidence, strength and peace of mind”.

I am a therapist, counsellor and writer based in Central London, UK and the founder of Laser Medicine, a specialist Low Level Laser Therapy clinic on Harley Street, London, W1. Laser Medicine is a general practice clinic using Cold Laser Therapy to treat many health conditions including addiction and PTSD.

I also offer a Counselling Service for those who face the challenge of living (and loving) with trauma or post-traumatic stress. Although the trauma may be from years earlier, recovery continues throughout one’s life. With over 20 years in the field I offer a solid framework to process the effects of trauma, including a focus on spiritual and emotional balance, the inner child, detoxification of shameful feelings and practical help in the following areas:

  • Addiction (process and substance recovery).
  • Sex and love recovery.
  • Intimacy issues.
  • Panic attacks.
  • Anxiety and depression.
  • Low self-esteem.
  • Self-destructive behaviours.
  • Unhealthy relationship patterns.
  • Indecision and confusion.

An active member of the recovery scene, I share personal experience, along with the insight and healing I’ve gained from many intense trauma recovery programmes both in the UK and the USA, including the Survivors programme developed by Pia Mellody at The Meadows, AZ, (adopted by the Priory Hospital in the UK), along with other progressive trauma models provided through Onsite Workshops, TN.

As a therapist, counsellor and writer I have written many recovery related articles and the novel Dragon King’s DaughterI also hold a Masters Degree in the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation from the University of London (SOAS).

Facing my own trauma I have walked through the fire and come through it, stronger and more compassionate, with self-respect and self-love. I help my clients to do the same…
